Guidelines for Posting A.A. General Service Conference-Approved Public Service Announcements on A.A. Websites

Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. (A.A.W.S.), holds the copyright on Conference-approved Public Service Announcements (P.S.A.s).  A.A.W.S. grants permission to A.A. entities to post or embed these P.S.A.s on their websites without a prior written request to do so.

For this purpose, an A.A. website is defined as a website hosted by an A.A. group or service entity listed in G.S.O.’s records. 

In addition, a website for an event that is put on by A.A. members, for A.A. members, about A.A., and conforming to the Twelve Traditions of A.A. may post these public service announcements.

The proper credit line should be included to ensure that copyrights are protected: P.S.A. name, posted with permission of A.A. World Services, Inc.

Additionally, the following disclaimer must be posted in connection with the video:

This Public Service announcement (P.S.A.) is copyrighted by Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. (A.A.W.S).  All rights reserved.  A.A.W.S. is not affiliated with and does not sponsor this website, its owner, or its content.  For more information, please visit www.aa.org.

If A.A.W.S., Inc.-copyrighted P.S.A.s are posted or embedded on a site, an email should be sent to ippolicy@aa.org informing A.A.W.S. about the posting and confirming that these guidelines have been complied with. 

A.A.W.S. reserves the right to have its P.S.A.s removed from any site, if we deem the content within which they are placed as contrary to the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous, or otherwise inappropriate.
